2019 Florida East Coast Series
Regattas in the series are stand-alone regattas as well as being part of the overall series. Each regatta score will be compiled to determine the series winners – competitors do not need to register separately for the series. The winner of the series will be awarded the Florida East Coast Series Champion Perpetual Trophy 

January 20, 2019 – Florida East Coast Series, Regatta #1

Held at MYC (Melbourne)  This regatta is open to Optis, High School 420s and Open Bics may register to race with one design scoring in their class.

February 24, 2019 – Florida East Coast Series, Regatta #2

Held at PBSC (Palm Beach)  This regatta is open to Optis, High School 420s, and Open Bics may register to race with one design scoring in their class.

TBA – Blessing of the Fleet

11:00am – Meet at Turning Basin for Fleet Blessing
12:00pm – Community BBQ at South Causeway Park

All boats are welcome. There will be educational booths and a free BBQ afterwards.

March 24, 2019 – Florida East Coast Series, Regatta #3

Held at USCMC (Jensen Beach – Martin County)  This regatta is open to Optis, High School 420s, Lasers and Open Bics may register to race with one design scoring in their class.

April 7, 2019 – Florida East Coast Series, Regatta #4

Held at YSF (Vero Beach)  This regatta is open to Optis, High School 420s, Lasers and Open Bics may register to race with one design scoring in their class.

April 28, 2019 – Florida East Coast Series, Regatta #5

Held at TCYSF (Ft. Pierce)  Open to sailors of all ages in the Laser, Open Bic and Collegiate 420 classes and to sailors under the age of 15 in the Optimist class.

May 5, 2019 – Waterfest   11am-4pm

Come to Jaycee Park and try Sailing & Kayaking and other water activities – Free Admission – Open to Public – Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages available. Don’t miss this fun day in the park!

June 10 – August 12, 2019 – Summer Sailing Camp

Registration for Summer classes have begun.

Optis, Pram  – Ages 7-12                               420 Sailboats – Ages 12-18

Ensure your spot by registering early. You may complete registration and payment online via our website or download application, complete and send with payment to our address.

All students must be able to swim and have a life jacket fitted to them. A parent or guardian must accompany each student on the first day of their class.

August 10, 2019 – TCYSF 3rd Annual River Raft Regatta

The River Raft Regatta is a fund raiser to sponsor children in our community in learning to sail.
Rafts must be homemade. A second race will feature kayaks.  Four prizes will be awarded:
1) Best in Time for Raft
2) Best in Time for Kayak
3) Best Decoration overall
4) Best Costumes overall

Entry is FREE!

Race Date/Time/Place:  August 10, 2019   11am    Fort Pierce City Marina

There will be a Captain’s meeting – date and location TBD.
This meeting is for all raft and kayak captains to go over the rules, regulations and course.
If you need help building your raft, bring your materials at the Captain’s meeting for ideas, suggestions and/or assistance.

THE 2019 PARKER WHITEHEAD MEMORIAL REGATTA
FLORIDA EAST COAST REGATTA FALL SERIES, REGATTA# TBA

OCTOBER TBA 2019  –  JAYCEE PARK  –  START TIME:  1:00 PM

This regatta is in memory of Parker Whitehead, a bright, handsome young man, with much promise and an intense interest in all sports. Parker passed away at the age of 15, a victim of cancer.

Parker would be pleased to know that other young people can benefit from his parents’ support of sporting activities such as this regatta, giving them an opportunity to learn self-confidence, self-discipline and teamwork, while having fun on the water.

The regatta is open to all boats of the Optimist class (including wood, plastic and fiberglass hulls), Collegiate 420. (ie., No spinnaker or trapeze) and Open Bic. They will race and be scored in 4 classes; the Optimist Gold class will consist of Optimist sailors with 1.5 years or more of sailing experience, all other Optimist sailors will sail in the Silver class, a 420 class and an Open Bic class.
