Treasure Coast Youth Sailing
Located at Jaycee Park on the beautiful Indian River in Fort Pierce, Florida, we are sponsored by the City of Fort Pierce. Our recently renovated facility is now known as the Fort Pierce Sailing Center, home of the Treasure Coast Youth Sailing Foundation.
The Foundation’s first sailing class was on June 4, 2007. During the first few years, sailing instruction was available for children 7 to 14 years of age. With the addition of larger sailboats to our fleet, we were able to expand our programs to include young people through the age of 18. We’ve had over 600 student registrations in 9 seasons, and provided free tuition and lunches to 65 children from disadvantaged homes. All instruction is by certified sailing instructors.
You can help us continue to provide free tuition and lunches for disadvantaged children as well as helping fund our expansion and fundraising programs. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and all donations are tax deductible. Individuals and businesses in the community have been very generous in helping us develop the successful programs we have today, but your help is needed to maintain these programs and reach future goals.
The Treasure Coast Youth Sailing Foundation’s mission:
Our goal is to instill self-discipline, self-confidence and the spirit of teamwork in our students while teaching them to sail – helping shape the minds and bodies of tomorrow’s leaders.
